The weeks following the arrival of a new baby can be incredibly joyful, but also overwhelming as families adjust to a new routine, sleepless nights, and the demands of caring for a newborn. That's why I come to you — no packing the diaper bag, no corralling the kids into the car, no worrying about everyone's favorite snacks for the ride. Photographing in your own home also enhances the storytelling of your baby's first few months, capturing the nursery, the little details, and the everyday moments that make this season uniquely yours. I strive to make our time together easygoing and authentic. Below, I've outlined some key factors and suggestions for our session.
How the session works…
Feeding Baby
I recommend feeding your baby about 30 minutes before the session or upon my arrival. This helps them feel calm and comfortable during the session.
What to Wear
For you and your family, simple, neutral-colored, or color-coordinated clothing works best to keep the focus on your baby. Avoid busy patterns or logos for a timeless look.
What Should the Baby Wear
For the baby, I recommend one outfit and a swaddle. Please try the outfit on beforehand to ensure it fits well and avoid clothing that’s too bulky, stiff, or uncomfortable. Pay attention to textures, as softer fabrics photograph beautifully.
Props
I will bring a basket, blankets, Scrabble tiles to spell out your baby’s name, and “It’s a Girl” or “It’s a Boy” signs. Other props we can incorporate from your home include your baby’s stuffed animals, personalized signs, or seasonal décor.
